Since I've been in school full time, I've so little time to do digital art. My days are immersed in technical data and the creative side of me becomes neglected. I just finished my first Term and am lucky to finally have a week off. The first thing I did was dive into some digital art. I spent several days on this one. It took many long hours wrestling with each detail. I'd been away from it too long and ideas don't flow as easily as before, when I was creating a digital art piece every week. I hope you like the results.
As part of my course, I'm required to keep a Blog, although I've never had much of a bloggy personality. I decided to do it completely on the topic of Digital Art, ideas and thoughts on graphics-related stuff, plus I've thrown in several of my techniques. The blog is [link] The child's face was provided to me by Deanna Cathcart, Deathbycanon [link] The body was made with many pieces. The dress was made directly in Photoshop by sampling bits of fabric onto numerus layers, then applying the Liquify Filter, dodge & burn, etc. The background is comprised of more than 30 separate pieces. For some reason, when this image displays in the larger size, it appears as though the crop of the upper left corner is jagged. This is not actually the image. It has something to do with the deviantart upload. Later when I get a moment I will try uploading it again to see if it resolves this problem. |
