Artist's Comments

This may be my most intricate digital art piece yet. I spent days working on it, in total about 100 hours. The horse is made from so many pieces of various horses, at least 8 horses, none of which were this color. The color is made completely in Photoshop. The tail alone is made with about 7 different pieces.

You will recognize my daughter, Priya as the 'model'. Her dress is made from scratch, a figment of Photoshop's imagination. Priya's Flickr photostream is here: www.flickr.com/photos/priya_papriiika/

After some feedback from viewers, I changed the shape of the horse, making it's size more in alignment with the scale of the rider. Priya prefers the original version with the horse as a stallion, so I've changed it back again to the original version. Here is a link to a small Flash animation I made of both versions. I welcome your opinions:

this is one of the most beautiful piece of work I've ever seen
You did it again. I'm impressed, overwhelmed, you name it ... This is such an outstanding artwork :faint: I'm happy with the description you gave about your artwork. It makes my admiration grow with the minute. At least 8 horses, who would ever guessed that! It's not only your technique that's very good, but you always put so much emotion in your works. And this one is not an exception :) It's very original to use a picture of your daughter. It gives everything something special.

This artwork looks like it could be on the cover of a romantic book. I've never seen the movie 'Gone with the wind', only some parts in other programs and some pictures. But your artwork made me think of that. Wonderful, just wonderful. Enough talking, I'm going to admire your artwork again  Silently ofcourse .....
This is both brilliantly done and very beautiful. You are very skilled :)
Thank you so much for your comment !!
Thank you John !! I am happy you like it. My daughter only asked me to make one small change, whereas she usually has many suggestions, which means that she was pleased with it. And she's my toughest critic, ha ha !! :-D
Thank you very much. This piece took about 100 hours, so it is the most complicated one I've done so far. I am now exhausted after finishing it. It feels a bit like running a marathon, at the end I feel tired and need a little break, ha ha !! (but I will probably start a new one within 3 or 4 days) :-D
